HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police are investigating a bank robbery involving a masked man with a knife in downtown Harrisburg.
On Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to
the Fulton Bank on North 3rd Street after receiving report of a robbery that had just occurred.
The
tellers told police that a masked man entered the bank through the front door.
He went directly to the tellers and demanded that money be placed in
his white plastic bag, then he brandished a knife.
Bank employees gave him a
small amount of cash, and the robber fled the scene heading north.
No one was harmed.
Witnesses say the robber was a short man, about 5'5" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black mask, gloves, black hooded jacket and black pants.
Police believe this incident may be related to another Harrisburg robbery. On Sunday Feb. 24, a masked with a white plastic bag robbed the Metro Bank on North 2nd Street. In that case, the robber did not display a weapon.
Authorities are still investigating. Anyone with information may contact detectives at 717-255-3025 or 717-255-3114.
