LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster County man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of his pregnant girlfriend.

A jury on Wednesday also found 23-year-old Matthew Becker guilty of third-degree murder in the death of Allison Walsh's unborn daughter.

Becker could face the death penalty during the sentencing phase of the trial.

Defense attorney Dennis Charles had argued that Becker's handgun went off accidentally, while prosecutors insisted that Becker deliberately fired the gun.

Walsh, 21, was seven months pregnant when the bullet struck her in the head August 12, 2011 at the Mastersonville home where the couple lived with Becker's parents.

She and her baby, a girl she had named Alexandria Marie, died at a hospital. Investigators said the baby survived for nearly six minutes after her mother's death.
