U.S. Navy bands cancel performance at summer concert series

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

The U.S. Navy Bands will no longer perform at the Springettsbury Township's summer concert series.

Township officials announced Thursday that the sequestration budget cuts do not allow the bands to travel further than 50 miles from Washington D.C.

The acts canceled include Country Current, scheduled on Wednesday, June 26 and Cruisers, scheduled on Wednesday, July 31.

The Sounds of Summer concert series is working to replace these acts.
