2 dead, several injured in Pa. Turnpike bus crash

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two people have died and several are injured after an accident in the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike at mile marker 227 in Middlesex Township.

According to officials, the accident happened just before 9 a.m. The crash involved a tour bus taking the Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team to a NCAA-II match at Millersville University. 

The tour bus was carrying 23 players, coaches and the driver when it went off the road and crashed into trees.

The Cumberland County Coroner's office identified the deceased driver as Anthony M. Guaetta, 61, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Kristina J. Quigley, 30, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania died from injuries at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Quigley was approximately six months pregnant and her unborn child did not survive.

Authorities say three passengers were seriously injured and flown by medical helicopter from the accident. 

We are told patients were taken by ambulance to Harrisburg Hospital, Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Holy Spirit Hospital and Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

According to hospital officials all of the patients from Harrisburg Hospital and Carlisle Regional Medical Center were treated and released as well as three of four patients at Holy Spirit Hospital.

The tour bus was chartered through Mlaker Charter and Tours of Davidsville, Pa.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
