Animal clinic sets up fund following police dog's surgery

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Cumberland County animal center is setting up a fund to help less fortunate pet owners who may have medical emergencies.

Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center is caring for Zeke, a Harrisburg police K-9 who was shot while assisting with a call in Lower Paxton Township.

Zeke, a two-and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois, was flown to Rossmoyne on Friday. And while the center is covering all of the costs for Zeke's care, they created a fund for pet owners who may not be able to afford emergency care.

For those who are interested in donating, the center asks that contributions be made payable to the "Animal Emergency Fund" at the following address:

Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center
4930 Ritter Road, Suite 101
Mechanicsburg Pa 17055

The Harrisburg Kennel Club also has a fund set up for future K-9 cops. You can donate to that fund by following this link: http://www.abc27.com/link/624183/harrisburg-k9-donations.
