Lynchburg Veteran & Dog Honored at Quilt Show

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - A local veteran was honored at the Beauty in Fabric and Thread quilt show in Lynchburg Sunday.

Josh Rowland and his dog Kate served in Afghanistan together as a team and recently reunited at home.

Sunday, they were each presented handmade quilts at the Patches and Pieces show at Holy Cross School.

Josh says he appreciates the support, especially for his best friend.

"Military dogs and animals have not always been treated the best. So now that I know that my one time, my coworker, is now my pet and I can just spend all my time with her, and now the town is supporting us..it's just, it's amazing."

The quilt maker says the yellow on the quilt represents Josh coming home. Josh says being home and having Kate with him is incredible.
