PEACH BOTTOM, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two people were injured following a crash involving a tractor trailer on Route 272/Nottingham Road just west of Soapstone Hill Road.

Authorities say the tractor trailer traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment and utility pole. It then flipped onto its side and slid across the road, hitting a 2001 Honda Civic in the process.

The Civic bounced off the tractor trailer and hit a Ford F-350 driving behind it.

The driver of the tractor trailer was ejected from his vehicle and transported from the scene for unknown injuries. The driver of the Civic also reported minor injuries.

Route 272 was closed for around 36 hours while crews cleaned up a fuel spill as a result of the crash.

The tractor trailer driver was cited for careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, among other violations. His condition is unknown at this time.
