NEW FREEDOM, Pa. (WHTM) -

The family of a convicted killer wants to clear his name and has launched their own investigation.

Zachary Witman was 15-years-old when he was charged with stabbing his 13-year-old brother, Gregory, to death back in 1998 in their New Freedom home. He was later convicted of the crime.

Zachary is now 29 and is serving a life sentence in prison. His family has always maintained his innocence and they have now hired private investigators to look into the case.

The family will hold a press conference Wednesday where they said they will reveal new forensic evidence analyzed by an edged weapon expert.

The press conference starts at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Stay with abc27 for more details on-air and online.
