LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) -

Fire crews responded to a fully involved chicken house fire in Lebanon County.

County dispatchers say crews received calls to the building on the 400 block of Royal Road at 12:05 p.m.

By the time they arrived, the chicken house was already severely damaged. Fire crews say it burned quickly because it was windy, and the building was filled with hay.

Authorities report that 40,000 chickens were lost, worth around $13,000.

Damages to the building are estimated at $500,000.
