An employee of a West York business was knocked unconscious Tuesday when he was struck by a runaway vehicle that had been knocked into gear by a pet dog, police said.
The employee of Hokes Mills, at 150 S. Sumner Street, was trying to stop the vehicle from colliding with a parked truck, but he was pinched between the runaway vehicle and the parked truck it side-swiped, according to West York police.
The employee was knocked to the ground and struck his head. He had regained consciousness before he was transported to York Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment, police said.
His name was not released.
