Horse breeder talks on YouTube, but not to police

Posted: Updated:
WINDSOR, Pa. (WHTM) -

Horse owner Joe Meyer posted two videos on YouTube.com, talking about the recent deaths of several of his horses. But, according to Lower Windsor Township Police, Meyer has not returned their phone calls or calls to investigators at the York County SPCA.

Police continue to investigate the death of four horses at the Lower Windsor Township farm.  Meyer said in the video posting that, in fact, nine horses died and said he has proof they were poisoned.

Police said Meyer contacted them on March 22 and notified them that his horses died, but has not been in contact with them since.  Meyer also said in the video that he and his family received threats from animal rights activists and he has them in hiding for safety reasons.

Lower Windsor Township Police Chief Tim Caldwell said he would like to speak with Meyer in person to help move the investigation along.
