Lynchburg, VA - Are you in the market for a used cop car Now's your chance to buy.
Starting Wednesday through Friday, Lynchburg is auctioning off its fleet of used stuff. It includes everything from a Dodge Magnum with 100,000 miles on it to a snow blower.
The city auctions these items to raise money for new vehicles.
They hope to raise $95,000 from the 60 items up for bid.
The director of Fleet Services says there's a lot of interest and that's a money-maker for city coffers.
"All the money from this auction comes back and we can use it to reinvest it in new city vehicles. So, instead of having to go through the budget process for some of the money, we use the revenue from this," said John McCorkhill, director of fleet services.
This auction's once a year.
For a peek at the vehicles, go to the fleet services building off 5th Street. Bids are due by noon Friday.
