A man was arrested following a three-hour standoff with police in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
Officers were called to the first block of South Market Street around 8 p.m. on Sunday after a neighbor in an adjacent apartment heard a gunshot and called 911.
An officer spoke to the suspect, 53-year-old Kirk Goldinger, briefly on the phone. Police said Goldinger then hung up, and the county's SERT was called in to assist. Some residents were evacuated.
Police said Goldinger surrendered shortly after 11 p.m. without incident.
According to authorities, Goldinger had been behaving unusually and making threats toward neighbors earlier in the day.
He was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster General Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Once he was released, he was transferred back into police custody.
Goldinger is charged with one count of terroristic threats. He was arraigned and released on $25,000 bail.
On Monday morning, police executed a search warrant on the Goldinger residence. They seized ammunition and several firearms.
