LICKDALE, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police in Lebanon County said a drunken driver was responsible for a crash early Monday that closed Lickdale Road for two hours.

Michael Fretz, 27, of Lancaster, was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee on Fisher Avenue in Union Township when he fell asleep behind the wheel and traveled through the intersection of Route 72, according to police.

The Jeep hit a curb and went airborne before striking a steel utility pole, then jumped another curb at the entrance to a gas station and struck a light pole, police said.

Fretz was not injured. He was later charged with DUI, police said.

Power to the stop lights at the intersection was disrupted for several hours.
