HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Drugs dealers would face tougher penalties for selling and making narcotics in front of children under a bill approved Wednesday by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

House Bill 447 would allow judges to add prison time to the sentence of those convicted of trafficking drugs if the crime was committed in the presence of a child or in any home where a child was present.

Judges would also be allowed to add prison time to the sentence for each child present.

The legislation now moves to the Senate for consideration.
