LANDISVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police investigating the death of a Millersville University student confirmed Thursday that Kevin Chavez's cell phone was found on top of a silo, and that he suffered injuries that could be consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

West Hempfield Township police said they continue to investigate whether the 19-year-old Chavez died from injuries he sustained from a hit-and-run crash or from an accidental fall.

Chavez, of Landisville, was pronounced dead at a hospital Monday night after two drivers found him lying in the 1500 block of Silver Spring Road. An autopsy later indicated he had suffered multiple traumatic injuries.

Police said the silo on which his cell phone was located is near where Chavez was found. Authorities added that Chavez's keys were found in his vehicle.

Anyone with information concerning the case is asked to call the West Hempfield Township Police Department at 717-285-5191 or 800-957-2677.
