Lebanon Co. lawmaker to undergo chemotherapy for 6th time

Posted: Updated:

A state senator from Lebanon County will soon begin chemotherapy for treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

This will be Senator Mike Folmer's sixth chemotherapy treatment for cancer he was diagnosed with in February 2012. In the past year he's also undergone two procedures to drain accumulated fluid from his chest. His office said he did not miss one Senate session day during that time.

Flomer said he remains optimistic about his diagnosis.

"I continue to ... thank my constituents, colleagues, and friends for their kind words and ongoing support," said Folmer. "As I continue with treatments, I plan to attend to Senate business as normal, just as I did last year, and remain just as committed to representing the citizens of the 48th district as I have been since taking office."
