US Marshals arrest Megan's Law offenders

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two former Harrisburg men wanted for violating Megan's Law have been arrested, the U.S. Marshals Service announced Friday.

Donald Buie, 46, was taken into custody in Georgia and Michael Franklin, 45, surrendered to a Harrisburg police detective on Thursday, the agency said.

Buie, who had a last known address in the 1500 block of Walnut Street, was convicted in 2006 of indecent assault was required to register as a sex offender. Police obtained a warrant for his arrest in August 2011 after he failed to update his address as required by Megan's Law.

He currently is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

Franklin in 2002 was convicted of a 3rd degree sex offense in Maryland and was formerly registered as homeless in Harrisburg. Authorities said in March, he failed to update his sex offender registration information.
