Hillsville, VA - Some of the worst storm damage from last night happened in Carroll County where nearly a dozen structures were destroyed or damaged.
The bulk of the damage happened near the intersection of Coon Ridge Road and US 52.
In this area our reporter counted two buildings that were completely destroyed - both out buildings - and at least six other houses that had visible damage.
The worst of the storm hit about 2:30 a.m. while most were sleeping.
"When I got here the roof on this building had been blown off; it was hanging on a power line. There was a limb in the store. There was just debris everywhere around here," said Ron Nichols who was out helping put a tarp on a neighbor's home.
The National weather Service in Blacksburg says straight line winds were responsible for the damage.
There are no reports of any injuries.
