MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County said they will file charges against three teens suspected of stealing five handguns from four vehicles.

The juveniles, all 16 years old, will each be charged with five counts of theft of a handgun, one count of theft, and one count of reckless endangerment, police said Monday.

The teens are accused of taking the guns from unlocked vehicles Wednesday and Thursday in the same neighborhood and within a few blocks of each other, police said.

The thefts occurred in the 2000 block of Market Street Extended, the 1800 block of Market Street Extended, the first block of Hanover Street, and in the 1800 block of Lakeside Drive.

The stolen firearms - three 9mm handguns, a .45 caliber and a .380 caliber - had all been recovered as of Friday evening, police said.

According to investigators, the teens admitted that they searched about a hundred cars to find guns.

They will be charged as juveniles. One is currently detained in a juvenile facility, police said.
