YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

A man was armed with a knife when he tried to rob a Dunkin' Donuts in York County, but left empty handed when the clerk refused to open the register, according to police.

Spring Garden Township police said no injuries were reported in the crime Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts at 1015 Mt. Rose Avenue.

The would-be robber was described as a white male with a black goatee, 5'9" tall, and wearing dark blue jeans, light blue sweatshirt, and mirror sunglasses.

Police said he walked up to the counter at around 5:30 p.m., pulled a knife on the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register.

When he was denied, he left the store and was last seen heading north through the parking lot, police said.

Anyone with information may call the Spring Garden Township Police Department at 717-843-0851.
