Harrisburg police are searching for two men in connection with an attempted robbery. Authorities say they shot a woman in the foot when she told them she didn't have any valuables.

Just before midnight on Tuesday night, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Briggs Street on a report that a woman had been shot in the foot.

The 22-year-old victim told police that she was getting something from her car on Briggs Street just a few minutes earlier when she was confronted by two young men.

They demanded her valuables and told her to get on the ground. The victim didn't have anything with her, and one of the men shot her in the foot. The robbers then fled the scene.

The woman's boyfriend was inside and heard the shot. He ran out and chased the robbers but had to stop when they fired at him.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the top of her left foot. She was later released.

Authorities are searching for two young men between the ages of 18 and 20. One wore a red hooded sweatshirt, while the other wore a black hooded sweatshirt.

Police are still investigating this incident. Anyone with information may call 7171-255-3184 or 717-255-3114.
