GETTYSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Power was resorted to thousands of customers in Adams County this afternoon.

The outage was centered in the Gettysburg and Hunterstown area, according to Adams County Electric Cooperative Spokesman Duane Kanagy.

Nearly 9,000 Met-Ed customers were also without power at 10:25 a.m. At one point, there were 6,000 Adams County Electric customers without power. Kanagy said the issue is with the Met-Ed delivery system that feeds power to Adams Electric.

At 8:40 a.m., Littlestown Area School District reported that they were without power but were staying in session. They planned on giving students lunch.
