HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Harrisburg police officer and two others were injured in a crash Saturday evening in the Uptown section of the city.

Witnesses told abc27 police were following an SUV near 6th and Forrest streets when the SUV clipped another car that was pulling out. This caused the police vehicle to crash, which then flipped onto its roof.

Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson said one officer was flown to the hospital with serious injuries.

Two other people, including a bystander, were also injured.

Police K-9 "Thor" is being treated at Rossmoyne Animal Hospital for bruising to his spleen, but is expected to recover.

Thompson said the investigation into the crash continues.
