Home invasion spurred alert at Penn State Mont Alto

Posted: Updated:
MONT ALTO, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police are looking for two men wanted for an armed home invasion that prompted an alert Monday morning at Penn State University's Mont Alto campus.

Trooper Robert Hicks said the two men broke into a home adjacent to the campus in the 7300 block of Slabtown Road by kicking in a side door at around 8:30 a.m.

The two men then put a gun to the head of a 24-year-old woman in the home and demanded to know where she kept her money, Hicks said.

They fled with about $5,000 in cash, police said. The woman was not harmed.

Both men wore hats, bandanas, and sunglasses to conceal their identity, according to Hicks.

As troopers were looking for them, Penn State Mont Alto urged students to stay inside and secure their doors, while commuters and others were urged to avoid the campus.

The campus alert was lifted shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Anyone with information on the home invasion robbery is asked to call state police in Chambersburg at 717-264-5161.
