A 19-year-old Halifax woman was flown to a hospital Saturday night for injuries she suffered when she jumped onto the hood of a moving car and fell in front of the wheels, according to state police in Lykens.
Ashley L. Palmer had been walking on Pawnee Lane when the BMW driven by her cousin, 22-year-old Nicole C. Palmer, approached at approximately 20 mph and she jumped onto the hood in jest, police said.
Before Nicole Palmer could react, her cousin slipped off the hood and fell to the ground. Ashley Palmer was run over and became stuck underneath the front fender, unable to breathe and unconscious, police said.
She was rescued by a neighbor who drove the BMW off of her. She was then flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of major injuries, police said.
