CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police who arrested a man for the robbery of a Cumberland County pharmacy said they are looking into whether he is responsible for similar crimes on the East and West shores.

Hampden Township police said they arrested 25-year-old Vernon S. Ness following the robbery Tuesday morning at the CVS Pharmacy at the intersection of Carlisle Pike and Sporting Hill Road.

According to court papers Ness handed the pharmacist a note that read: "Give me all the Narcotics in the Narco Box. Cooperate and no one gets hurt."

Witnesses told police Ness then put the note back in his coat pocket and motioned as if he had a weapon.

Police said that while the pharmacist went to the safe to get some pills, another employee called 911 and Ness was arrested as he left the store. Court papers indicate that police found the robbery note and a folding knife in the pocket of the hoodie Ness was wearing.

Police also say as they handcuffed Ness he stated, "I guess I'm going to clean up now."

Ness, of Manchester, was charged with one count of robbery and sent to the Cumberland County Prison on $150,000 bail. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 8.

Police said they continue to investigate whether Ness is connected to at least two other pharmacy robberies others in the area.

Harrisburg Police said that on Sunday, a man demanded prescription pills from the Rite Aid pharmacy at 1941 Derry Street.

West Shore Regional police are investigating a similar incident Monday morning at the CVS Pharmacy at the West Shore Plaza in Lemoyne.
