HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are urging people to take extra safety precautions when walking, jogging or biking on the Harrisburg Greenbelt because of a suspicious incident on one section of the nature trail in Swatara Township.

Township police said a woman who was walking her dog on the Greenbelt between South 28th Street and South 19th Street reported that a man jumped out of the woods at her Wednesday evening.

Police said the same man reportedly jumped out of the woods at two other females, but none of the females were threatened or touched.

The man has been seen riding a bicycle, but was on foot when the incidents took place, police said.

The woman in the Wednesday evening incident described him as a dark skinned black or Hispanic male, in his mid to late 20's, about 5'10" tall with a husky build. He was wearing a sky blue polo shirt with thin white stripes, tan cargo shorts and sneakers, police said.

Police said they have increased foot and bike patrols on the Greenbelt as a result of the incident.

Anyone with information may call the Swatara Township Police Department at 717-564-2550.
