High Street in Carlisle has reopened following a water main break.
Carlisle police noticed the problem around 8:15 p.m. Monday on one of the borough's cameras. An officer told abc27 they noticed water causing the street to buckle and at times shooting about one foot into the air.
The break closed East High Street between Bedford and Hanover Streets until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The courthouse was without water, but that service has since been restored.
As for residents, officials said the impact was minimal. No one lost water and no boil water advisory was issued, according to officials.
However, authorities said there may be some sediment issues in the water and residents are being told to run the water until it clears.
Crews said the cause of the break was an old pipe.
