Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday on a construction project to repair and resurface a 1.14-mile section of Route 394 in Biglerville.
PennDOT spokesman Mike Crochunis said drivers may encounter single-lane traffic and parking restrictions in the work zone on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Crochunis said crews will repair the following roads in preparation for resurfacing this summer:
- Route 394, locally known as Hanover Street, in Biglerville and Butler Township;
- Hanover Street in New Oxford from the borough line to the traffic circle at U.S. Route 30;
- Carlisle Street in New Oxford from the traffic circle at U.S. Route 30 to just north of Drummer Drive in Oxford Township; and
- Berlin Road in New Oxford from the intersection with Carlisle Street to just south of Billerbeck Street in Oxford Township.
Curb cut work under the $1.14 million contract began last fall. Resurfacing is scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
