Harrisburg police investigate stabbing at Uptown store

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Harrisburg police are investigating a stabbing incident that injured at least two people at an Uptown gas station and convenience store.

The incident occurred Tuesday around 4 p.m. at the King Food Mart at the intersection of North 6th and Division streets. Police say the stabbing occurred after a fight broke out between two men inside the King Food Mart.

According to authorities, one man went into the store, and the other followed him inside. Knives were pulled, and police say a woman who was with one of the men sustained minor cuts.

It's believed she drove her friend to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment. The other man was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and officers told abc27 that he was in "pretty bad shape."

They said there is no reason for public to be alarmed.

No names or medical conditions have been released.
