Harrisburg teen shot in face

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 17-year-old suffered non-life threatening injuries when he was shot in the face in Harrisburg Tuesday night, according to police.

The Allison Hill teen told officers that he was the front passenger seat in a Ford Windstar that was stopped in the 2400 block of Reel Street while the driver was speaking to several people who were sitting on a porch, police said.

The teen said something happened and a person from the porch fired several rounds from a handgun at the minivan, and he was struck on the right side of his face by a bullet that came in the passenger side window, police said.

The driver took him to Harrisburg Hospital, and he was later transferred to Penn State Hershey Medical Center. His name was not released.

Police said they found several spent casings near the front porch of a Reel Street residence, but no one at the home was cooperative.

A 14-year-old Hall Manor boy who was in the minivan with the victim was involved in a robbery earlier in the evening in the 1800 block of North Street, where a pizza deliveryman had a gun pointed at his head, police said.

He was charged with robbery and conspiracy, as well violating curfew and driving without a license.

Police said the 14-year-old and another man in the van, 23-year-old William Carroll, of Allison Hill, were also arrested for a robbery Tuesday afternoon at the Downey School in the 1400 block of Herr Street, where they robbed a 20-year-old Allison Hill man after hitting him on the back of the head with a pistol.

Carroll was charged with robbery, conspiracy, aggravated assault, and corruption of a minor.

Police added that the Ford is owned by a 44-year-old Middletown woman who traded it for drugs last month and is now facing charges for her actions.

Police said a handgun was found on the floor of the minivan and evidence connected to the earlier robberies was collected from it.
