HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Harrisburg police are investigating an incident where three young men reportedly beat and robbed another man Thursday night.

The 19-year-old victim told officers he was walking home from a pizza shop when he was hit on the head with a handgun by one robber who ordered him to the ground in the area of S. 20th and Kensington streets.

He said two others then joined in, and the three punched and kicked him before taking his shoes, Pitt University backpack and wallet, according to police.

The victim tried to hold on to his cell phone, but one robber stomped on his wrist and forced him to let go, police said.

He was treated at Harrisburg Hospital for numerous bruises and scrapes.
