MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two Mechanicsburg men charged in the armed robberies of several restaurants have been ordered to trial.

Alex J. Kennedy, 24, waived his preliminary hearing Monday on charges including robbery, theft and assault.

His alleged accomplice, 24-year-old Dustin Y. Leinbach, also waived his preliminary hearing.

Kennedy is accused of committing robberies at the Pizza Hut at 610 East Simpson Street on November 4, the Subway restaurant at the Windsor Park Shopping Center on November 12, the Hemps Above tobacco shop at 105 North Arch Street on November 15, the Subway in the 1000 block of Wesley Drive on November 18, and the Subway at 4 Gettysburg Pike on December 11.

He allegedly used a handgun for the robberies at Hemps Above and the Wesley Drive Subway, a knife during the hold-up at the Gettysburg Pike Subway, a 1x1 stick during the crime at the Pizza Hut, and a crowbar at the Windsor Park Subway, according to charging documents.

Leinbach allegedly drove Kennedy to the first four robberies and the two agreed to use the money to buy heroin, documents state.

Both men are being held on $100,000 bail at the Cumberland County Prison. A formal arraignment in Cumberland County Court was scheduled for July 25.
