Thefts reported from cars in Fairview Township

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (WHTM) -

Numerous unlocked vehicles in the New Cumberland area of Fairview Township had items stolen from them between the overnight hours of May 5 into May 6, police said Tuesday.

Township police said they received theft reports from victims who had their cars parked on Ross Avenue, Water Street, Fairview Road, and Lewisberry Road.

Among the items stolen were prescription medications, backpacks, and GPS units.

There was no damage or signs of forced entry to any of the vehicles, police said.

Police reminded residents to keep valuables in their vehicles out of plain view and to keep their car doors locked.
