Lynchburg, VA - If you are looking for the perfect dog or cat to add to your family, you have a great opportunity this weekend.

Saturday is the region's first mega adoption event. There will be dogs and cats from 12 area shelters and rescue centers at the Presbyterian Homes and Family Services and the Family Alliance grounds in Lynchburg.

"We are expecting over 100 adoptable dogs and cats all in one spot. It's a great opportunity if you have been thinking about getting a dog or a cat to come out. It's a one stop shop you will have so many from everywhere," said Chantal O'Keeffe, co-chair for the Central Virginia Mega Adoption Event.

The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. a on the Presbyterian Homes & Family Services and the Family Alliance grounds. That's at 150 Linden Avenue in Lynchburg.
