Hi there—let's hope this wonderful sunshine sticks around for Mother's Day weekend!

This Saturday, May 11—come out to the first ever James River Wine and Music Festival! You can taste from 12 area wineries at Riverfront Park. There will be live music and a variety of food. That's 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. rain or shine. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate.

Peaks of Otter Winery is also open for the Mother's Day weekend. From noon to 5 p.m.– Friday through Sunday - you can taste their wine, and mom will get a special gift. Of course you can always bring your own picnic and enjoy the view.

Nothing says "I love you" like a rose…and if you want to get some for mom..you should stop by the Old City Cemetery. Saturday is the 18th Annual Antique Rose Festival from 9 AM to 2 PM. You can buy from the famous rose collection in its peak of bloom. There will also be music, baked goods and activities for kids. Then Sunday, there's the Mother's Day Rose Walk at 3 p.m.

And in Rustburg, the Southbound Jamboree will host a benefit for the Virginia Wounded Warriors Program. The band Blackout will be the main performance staring at 4 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $7. There will also be a ride to raise money, and 400 riders are expected to be out there. To ride, it's $20 per car or $15 per bike. That will begin at 10:30 a.m.
