LEWISBERRY, Pa. (WHTM) -

All eastbound traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike was stopped approaching the Harrisburg West interchange over an hour after a truck's load caught fire.

The Turnpike Commission said the truck was hauling hay and the hay caught on fire. The incident was cleared from the Turnpike Commission's website as of 8 p.m.

Fairview Township Fire Department was urging motorists to avoid using the PA Turnpike as an alternate to the Interstate 81 detour, which is a result of an early morning tanker fire

The fire was at mile market 242, between the West Shore and East Shore exits, on 76 East.
