NEWPORT, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police said a hit-and-run in a McDonald's parking lot led to a high speed chase on Route 147 Friday evening.

Karen Reitz, 35, of State College is facing several charges after fleeing the parking lot of the Newport Plaza McDonald's following a hit and run crash.

According to state police, Reitz refused to stop for officers and led them on a chase along Route 147. Troopers finally stopped her on Mountain Road in Middle Paxton Township and found a one-year-old in the car.

Reitz is behind bars and faces several charges including driving under the influence and recklessly endangering the welfare of a child.
