YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

U.S. Marshals arrested 23-year-old Derrick Eugene Johnson in Memphis, Tenn. on Monday, May 13 after being named a suspect in a York homicide.

Johnson was being sought by police following an investigation into a shooting along the 600 block of East Market Street. A 21-year-old male victim died from gunshot wounds.

On March 11, officials issued an arrest warrant, charging Johnson with criminal homicide.

An investigation led authorities to believe that Johnson may have fled to the greater Memphis area.

On Monday evening, U.S. Marshals located and arrested Johnson in Memphis. He was taken into custody without incident.

Johnson was turned over to local authorities and is awaiting a local hearing to determine his extradition to York.
