Franklin Co. Board of Supervisors Votes to Save School Programs

Posted:

Rocky Mount, VA - A move by the Franklin County Board of Supervisors could save the middle school sports program.

The board voted to give an additional $300,000 to the school system.

The added funding from the board should be more than enough to pay for the sports program and governor's school slots that were in danger of being cut.

County Administrator Rick Huff says tax collections have been higher than anticipated, and that's where the extra money is coming from.

The school board has the final decision on how the money will be spent.
