A Harrisburg man injured in a shooting incident told police he accidentally wounded himself with a sawed-off shotgun.
City police said the 39-year-old man told them he had his gun wrapped in a jacket when it accidentally discharged Thursday night at an apartment building in the 1100 block of Cumberland Road.
He was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the abdomen that police described as significant, but not life threatening.
The shotgun was recovered and will be examined and measured. Police did not release the man's name because he has not yet been charged.
