Police: man, 21, overturns vehicle after leading officers on chase

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police reported that a 21-year-old man led them on a chase through Lancaster before overturning his vehicle.

Early Sunday morning at around 2:30 a.m., authorities stopped a white Chevrolet Blazer on Milton Grove Road at the Route 283 overpass for a traffic violation.

As the officer walked toward the vehicle, the driver sped away.

The officer tried to follow the vehicle as it fled north on Back Run Road then east on Hossler Road. Other officials joined the chase, and one officer reported that the vehicle was heading north on Breneman Road.

According to police, the driver lost control and crashed in the 1700 block of Breneman Road. The vehicle overturned.

The driver, later identified as 21-year-old Justis Yost of the 700 block of Reservoir Street in Lancaster, was apprehended and taken to Lancaster General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No officers were injured in the incident. Police are still investigating the incident.
