HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Lower Paxton Township say a burglar attacked a 64-year-old woman with a knife in her apartment early Sunday morning.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a burglary in progress at an apartment in the 4200 block of Wagon Wheel Court at the Eagle Crest Apartments complex.

Upon their arrival, officials determined that the incident had occurred between 15 minutes and a half-hour earlier.

According to police, a man in his 20s with a full beard and short curly hair, wearing a red striped shirt, had pried open a window and entered the apartment.

Authorities said he attacked the 64-year-old female resident who was home alone. The attacker used a knife and dragged the victim around the apartment.

The victim, who did not know the attacker, struggled and screamed until he abruptly stopped and left the apartment.

Although the victim sustained minor injuries, she did not require treatment. Police do not know of a motive at this time.

Anyone with information may contact the Lower Paxton Township Police Department at 717-657-5656, the anonymous tip line at 717-724-8317 or Crime Stoppers at 800-262-3080.
