State employees at a Harrisburg building used by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue were sent home early Wednesday after complaining of an odor of fumes.
Department of General Services spokesman Troy Thompson said the workers were sent home at 2 p.m. from the Revenue Department building at 17th and Brookwood streets.
Thompson said the fumes were coming into the building while a contractor was working on the roof.
He said officials will be speaking to the contractor to find out the cause of the odor, and whether there was any air quality infringement.
The employees are expected to report to work at their normal time on Thursday.
