JONESTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police in Lebanon County are investigating an early morning fatal crash on Interstate 81.

According to officials, the incident occurred at around 3:35 a.m. at mile marker 94 in Swatara Township.

A sedan driven by 29-year-old Amy Joyce of Hazleton was disabled in the right-hand lane after hitting a deer. Robert Morris, 62, of Florida was driving a tractor trailer in the right-hand lane and struck Joyce's vehicle.

Joyce's car spun and went off the road about 50 yards from the point of impact. The tractor trailer went off the highway and hit a small embankment 80 yards away.

Authorities reported that Joyce died at the scene. Morris and his passenger, Ian Ferguson of Florida, were not injured.

Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed from the scene. The right lane of I-81 was shut down following the crash for an investigation and subsequent cleanup.

Police said that Joyce was not wearing her seatbelt; Morris and Ferguson's seatbelts were in use.
