MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, billed as the only flying example of the aircraft in the world, visited Harrisburg International Airport on Wednesday as part of a coast-to-coast tour.

The bomber, dubbed "FIFI," was bound for Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin where it will be on display through Sunday for cockpit tours and rides.

The plane is owned by the Texas-based Commemorative Air Force, which displayed the B-29 and other historic military planes at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading over the weekend.

The B-29 Superfortress began active service in 1944 and is best known for missions over Japan that helped bring about the end of World War II.
