Gunman robbed Spring Garden convenience store

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

A robber was armed with a semi-automatic handgun when he demanded money from a York County convenience store early Thursday, police said.

Spring Garden Township police said the robber held up the Sunrise Sunoco at 1000 S. George Street at around 12:17 a.m.

He was last seen running south toward the Rest Haven nursing home, police said.

No one was injured.

The robber was described as a white male in his late 20's or early 30's, about 5'8" tall with a muscular, stocky build, with short, dark hair that he covered with a yellow bandana.

He was wearing blue jeans and a dark T-shirt with the sleeves cut off and a white, long sleeved thermal-style top under the T-shirt, police said.

He also wore a white bandana with a dark print to cover his face, and thick, dark-framed prescription glasses.
