Police investigate thefts from Carlisle YMCA

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Carlisle police are investigating multiple thefts at the family YMCA. Victims said that cash, credit cards and other items were taken from lockers.

Turns out, it happens more than one might think.

abc27 caught up with some heavy lifters at Gold's Gym in Camp Hill to get their thoughts. Most told us that they learned their lesson.

One man we spoke to said he had his keys and car stolen a few months back. Another man told us he had a Rolex watch taken from a gym locker in York.

Manager Nate Sellers says that they warn their customers to lock up each time but adds that, for thieves, a gym isn't the best place to target.

"It's illegal to have them in the locker rooms but we have a total of 13 cameras around the gym its self, front doors, and outside," he said.

Speaking of cameras, police in Carlisle are on the lookout for a man with gray hair who may have been wearing black or dark green gym clothes at the time of the thefts.

Anyone with information may call Carlisle police at 717-243-5252.
