LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster man has been charged with aggravated assault for a stabbing in the city early Tuesday.

Charles Jeffery Smith, 21, is accused of stabbing another 21-year-old man during a fight outside their apartment building in the 500 block of W. James Street, according to Lancaster police.

The victim, who was not identified, was transported to a hospital for multiple stab wounds to his torso and extremities.

While his injuries are very serious, he is expected to survive, police said.

Smith was being held in the Lancaster County Prison on $75,000 bail.
